because these songs just aren't anywhere near done yet.
the pieces of music here are works in progress, that without noted exception, are in extremely early stages of documentation. right now i'm in the process of recording an album, and these demos generally reflect the simple structure of the songs with little more (if anything) than voice and acoustic guitar. none of what you hear here, unless noted otherwise, will be indicative of final recorded versions of any song, but rather serve as a bare skeleton for that which will be. nevertheless, please enjoy with an open mind.

out from a hundred miles
one of the exceptions to the rule, this song appears in a relatively complete state, though several major elements remain unfinished. the vocals are scratch and the entire second half of the song will have an instrumental solo that should be epic in nature. despite that, everything else in the song will be very faithful to a final arranged and produced version for album release.
celeste
a song that will NOT appear on the album... a cover of a donovan song.
no need for sleep
an acoustic demo, one of my personal favorites from the forthcoming album.
all things considered
though the version of the song that appears here is composed completely of scratch tracks and placeholder performances, the arrangement of the song as i imagine it will not vary greatly from that which can be heard now.
this swirling sea
this song will likely be the vocal showcase of the album, though in this particular phase it is captured stripped down completely to the level that it is currently performed live, which is to say, an arrangement of only two instruments- voice and guitar.
send my love
another totally acoustic version. i expect, and will strive for, the fully arranged version of the song to be more similar in production to "wild horses" by the rolling stones.
